On May 25, 2018, data privacy in the EU is set to undergo its strictest ever policy change. What is the GDPR
The GDPR is a new set of data privacy requirements that is being enacted across all 28 EU member nations. All companies that collect and process EU citizen data, even if done outside the EU, are required to comply. The new standards allow for end users, customers, and employees to file claims if their data is not properly protected as put forth by the new GDPR. Providers that fail to comply with GDPR are subject to heavy fines imposed by the EU.
